An aquatint is a type of art print. Aquatints are printed from an image etched onto a metal plate with acid and tools. It’s called “aquatint” as the prints often resemble watercolor paintings. Aquatints are quite difficult to make. This means they are rarer than prints made by engraving or lithography.

This interesting work will enhance any modern or contemporary setting. Johnny Friedlaender was a leading 20th century artist, whose works have been exhibited in Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Japan and the United States. He has been influential upon other notable artists, who were students in his Paris gallery. His preferred medium of aquatint etching is a technically difficult artistic process, of which Friedlaender has been a pioneer.
